AMAALA will be an exclusive mega resort for the UHNWIs of this planet: ultra-high-net-worth individuals with assets exceeding thirty million dollars. The five-star lifestyle will be combined with a pioneering role in the field of sustainability.
Have yacht, will travel. The vanity project AMAALA is intended for the ultra-rich, the—let's not beat around the bush—UHNWIs of this planet: ultra-high-net-worth individuals. This will be a playground for the top 0.003% of the world's population, the super-rich with assets of more than thirty million dollars.
AMAALA is one of the megaprojects that are part of Vision 2030, which aims to make Saudi Arabia less dependent on oil and invest in other sectors, such as tourism. Tourism for demanding, high-spending yacht owners seeking exclusive vacation experiences, in this case.
It is a gift from Saudi Arabia to the whole world, as the plan is presented without false modesty. The name comes from the Arabic word for hope and Sanskrit for purity. AMAALA will be the world's most comprehensive wellness retreat located in the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Royal Reserve, covering some 68 kilometers of coastline.
On the northwest coast of the Red Sea, between Madinah and the Jordanian border, 4,155 km² of land is being prepared for the construction of AMAALA. The coral reef in the Red Sea is the fourth largest in the world. AMAALA aims to harness that natural beauty not only as an attraction for affluent divers. The revenue generated by the project should benefit environmental conservation and the promotion of biodiversity.
In doing so, AMAALA aims to combine a five-star lifestyle with pioneering sustainability. The intention is for the luxury resort to run completely climate-neutral. AMAALA is to operate alongside the existing Saudi energy grid, be powered by renewable energy sources and produce at least half of all food consumed at the resort itself as early as 2030. Even the waste will be completely recycled - environmental promises are by no means modest either.
Six Senses Amaala will be the first hotel to open its doors in Amaala in 2026. Six Senses Amaala's beach houses, hilltop village and private villas are inspired by the region's traditional coastal villages and offer panoramic views across Hijaz Bay to Pura Bay and its beautiful blue lagoons.
To the north, the village opens up to the long, expansive beaches of Hijaz Bay, where you'll find a beach restaurant, a family pool and homes. To the south, the village winds around the point to natural rock pools, small beaches and a mangrove boardwalk that leads you to the Six Senses Spa, located in a private bay.
Amaala will also offer a series of activities based on the three pillars: "wellness and sports," "art and culture" and "sea, sun and lifestyle."
With so much luxury, of course, you don't want to be crammed in with your exorbitantly wealthy neighbors. AMAALA will therefore consist of three separate locations: Triple Bay, The Coastal Development and The Island.
The most beautiful stretch of coast is reserved for Triple Bay Amaala, with beautiful bays to explore by yacht or jet ski against an inland backdrop of mountains. This will be the most exclusive wellness retreat on earth, with an Instagrammable rock hotel, a sports performance academy and facilities for popular sports such as golf, tennis, horseback riding, polo and camel racing. The Coastal Development will be the epicenter of arts and culture in the Middle East. A museum of modern art and a dynamic cultural calendar should attract influencers and art connoisseurs from around the world. The Island will be the site of the most luxurious residences and lush Arabian gardens. In addition to villas and apartments, an artists' village with working studios and exhibition facilities, ultra-luxury beach resorts and marinas will be built.
The first phase of development is scheduled for completion in 2026. Phase one of Amaala includes Marina Village, with key attractions such as Corallium, The Marina Life Institute, the Amaala Yacht Club, and more. From 2028 onwards, you will be able to visit AMAALA to spend your money on fine dining, wellness, and luxurious recreational facilities. Upon completion, Amaala will house 29 hotels with over 3,800 rooms, in addition to 1,500 luxury residences, high-end shops, fine dining, wellness, and recreational facilities. Amaala will welcome up to 500,000 visitors per year.
