Sindalah, luxury island in the Red Sea

Sindalah is a luxurious island located in northern Saudi Arabia, off the coast of the world's most prestigious construction project called NEOM. Sindalah offers an extraordinary experience for travelers seeking excellence. An exciting new destination where design, technology and nature come together.

Update: Work on Sindalah has been suspended at this time.

This beautiful 84-acre island that can be visited year-round plays an important role in Saudi Arabia's national tourism strategy and serves as a gateway to the enchanting Red Sea, known for its beautiful and diverse underwater world. The open seas and picturesque coral reefs surrounding Sindalah are home to dolphins, turtles, manatees, manta rays, whale sharks and an abundance of rare corals and colorful reef fish, 600 of which are endemic.

Sindalah embodies NEOM's vision in a tangible way. As the first physical project launched in NEOM, it offers a preview of the extraordinary developments that are yet to come. NEOM aims to create a new way of living and working that is sustainable, innovative, and harmonious. The project consists of 16 regions, each with its own identity.

Sindalah will offer luxury tourism in a unique setting, introducing visitors to the true beauty of NEOM and Saudi Arabia. This contributes to NEOM's broader goals of stimulating economic growth, creating jobs, promoting social progress, and protecting the environment. Sindalah represents the ultimate luxury travel experience.

With the ability to design new tourism opportunities from the ground up, NEOM is working with leading leisure and hotel brands such as Marriott and Four Seasons to make Sindalah an exclusive and glamorous destination in the Red Sea for the world's yachting community. NEOM is developing the island into a premium destination surrounded by a beautiful and diverse marine environment with one of the world's finest coral reserves.

With its incredible array of amenities, state-of-the-art maritime facilities, strategic location and exceptional natural landscapes, Sindalah is expected to position itself as one of the most attractive islands in the Red Sea.

NEOM, Sindalah and Vision 2030

Saudi Arabia is looking at accelerating income from tourism as part of its ambitious plans for Vision 2030, an initiative aimed at diversifying the kingdom's economy, from education reforms to large-scale projects such as NEOM and the Red Sea Project, a sprawling 28,000-square-kilometer tourist destination along the kingdom's west coast.

The opening of Sindalah has eminent historical significance not only for the island but also for NEOM. It marks the beginning of an era, a new era in which the Red Sea will become one of the most important global tourist destinations.

Sindalah will also be the starting point for the world to discover NEOM, which will be a catalyst for economic development and diversification. NEOM will reshape livability, business and environmental protection and support job creation (3,500), industrial development and sustainability goals in the kingdom.

Sindalah follows NEOM's vision and purpose: to adapt to and reduce the impact of climate change and uncontrolled development, to promote new ways to combat environmental degradation and to regenerate nature.
