Day trip Edge of the World

Edge of the World - One of Saudi Arabia's best-kept secrets

You will be picked up at the hotel at 2:30 pm and dropped off there 4 to 6 hours later. The first thing to notice when you arrive at the Edge of the World is the impressive cliff that stretches for about 600 kilometers and is part of the Tuwaiq Mountains, from Najran Province all the way to the southern border of Qassim, ending in Az-Zulfi. This geological phenomenon is the result of millions of years of erosion, during which wind and water sculpted the limestone formations into the breathtaking cliffs we see today. From the edge of this cliff stretches an immense void, where the landscape ends abruptly and the horizon merges into nothingness. The sense of serenity and vastness you experience here is truly unique. The landscape is very reminiscent of the Disney movie "The Lion King.

In addition to its natural beauty, the Edge of the World also has historical and cultural significance. The area was once part of the ancient caravan route and was used as a strategic point for traders traveling through the region. The cliffs served as an orientation point for travelers and provided shelter from the unpredictable desert conditions. Moreover, archaeological sites dating back to pre-Islamic times have been discovered in the vicinity of Edge of the World, adding even more historical value to the area.

What makes the Edge of the World truly fascinating, however, is its surreal atmosphere. The raw, pristine beauty of the landscape, combined with the sense of seclusion and the immense emptiness stretching out before you, create an almost otherworldly feeling. It is no surprise that this beautiful area is becoming increasingly popular with adventure travelers and photographers seeking unique and breathtaking landscapes.
