Recent developments in the Middle East have had a major impact on everyone directly or indirectly involved in the conflict, both locally and at home.
We can consider ourselves fortunate that when the conflict began on February 28, none of our travelers were in the Middle East or Saudi Arabia at the time due to Ramadan, and therefore did not need to be repatriated.
For travelers who are leaving for Saudi Arabia soon, we are looking for suitable solutions where necessary. We are monitoring the situation continuously, both from the Netherlands and from Riyadh, where Jessica is based. We are also in close contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Dutch embassy in Riyadh, airlines, and our local partners throughout the country. This allows us to respond quickly and offer you an alternative if necessary.
After nearly three weeks, we can cautiously conclude that people in Saudi Arabia are currently noticing little of the conflict and that, fortunately, the local population is experiencing minimal disruption from it. The local population is primarily focused on Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (Sugar Feast) holiday, which begins on March 18. This has been confirmed by all of our contacts in the country.
However, your safety and well-being are always our top priority. We will ensure that you remain well informed and will work with you personally during this uncertain period.
Do you have a question about your trip and are you leaving soon? Feel free to contact us; we are here to help.
Current situation
We are constantly monitoring updates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Middle East and Saudi Arabia and the Saudi government, updates from airlines, and information from our local partners.
Official decisions
We can only take action when an airline changes or cancels a flight. It is often not advisable to cancel or rebook yourself as long as there are no official changes. If something does change, we will work with you to find a suitable solution: rebooking, changing the route or, if necessary, canceling in accordance with the ANVR travel conditions.
Proactive communication
As soon as a change affects your trip, we will contact you. If you do not hear from us, it means that nothing has changed at this time and your trip can proceed as planned.
